This year is the first year of the China-ASEAN Free Trade Area. At present, the average tariff rate of China's foreign trade is 9.8%, and since January 1, the average import tax rate of China to ASEAN has dropped to 1.0%. China has become the largest trading partner of ASEAN, and ASEAN is China's third largest trading partner. 1. High-level promotion and mutually beneficial cooperation
The leaders and governments of China and ASEAN countries will promote economic and trade cooperation between the two sides as an important part of cooperation. 2010 is the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Vietnam, Indonesia and Myanmar, the 35th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations with the Philippines and Thailand, and the 20th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations with Singapore. The six governments of China and ASEAN respectively identified 2010 as the "Year of Friendship" and held a series of enhancements. Friendship and cooperation activities, among which promoting economic and trade cooperation is one of the important contents.

China and ASEAN leaders issued the "Joint Statement on Sustainable Development" and adopted the second five-year action plan for the implementation of the Joint Declaration on China-ASEAN Strategic Partnership for Peace and Prosperity. The leaders of the two sides reached a series of consensus on promoting economic and trade cooperation, and the government departments actively implemented them. In January 2010, China and Indonesia signed the Action Plan on the Implementation of the Joint Declaration on Strategic Partnership. The China-Singapore Joint Committee on Bilateral Cooperation actively promoted the implementation of the China-Singapore Free Trade Agreement and further established major cooperation projects such as Suzhou Industrial Park and Tianjin Eco-City; the China-Indonesia Economic and Trade Cooperation Committee meeting promoted mutual opening of markets between the two countries. The aspect played an important role.
2. Open market, innovative cooperation
Faced with the new situation of China-ASEAN mutual opening market, the two sides seek development with innovation. In the trade settlement in RMB, China and Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia and other ASEAN countries have implemented local currency swaps and played a role in jointly coping with the global financial crisis. The China-ASEAN Investment Cooperation Fund began to operate to encourage Chinese companies to invest in ASEAN. The China-ASEAN Cooperation Industry Association was established. The first China-ASEAN industry cooperation conference was held, and the industry docking projects between the two sides were initiated.
The Fifth Pan-Beibu Gulf Economic Cooperation Forum has further strengthened cooperation between the Pan-Beibu Gulf countries and reached consensus on promoting the construction of the Nanning-Singapore Economic Channel. The first China (Zhengzhou)-ASEAN Convention and Exhibition Economic Cooperation Forum was held to actively promote economic and trade cooperation between China's central region and ASEAN. Singapore has cooperated with Guangdong Province to build a “knowledge city”, cooperate with Jilin Province to build a “new agricultural cooperative food zone”, and cooperate with Sichuan Province to build a “scientific and technological innovation park”, which highlights innovation in the investment cooperation of large projects.
3, strive for a win-win situation, pragmatic cooperation
The 7th China-ASEAN Expo and the 7th China-ASEAN Business and Investment Summit continue to strive for a win-win situation, which further reflects the pragmatic nature of promoting cooperation between the two sides. The volume of trade in goods and the amount of investment signed have reached new heights. Cooperation has played a very important role. The Chambers of Commerce have been more active in organizing delegations and exhibitors, providing business consulting and matchmaking, and have played an active role in promoting trade and investment cooperation between the two companies. The China-ASEAN Mining Cooperation Forum promoted new cooperation in the field of resource development.
The fifteenth Greater Mekong Cooperation (GMS) six-nation ministerial meeting adopted the five major developments: the North-South Economic Corridor Development Plan, the East-West Economic Corridor Development Plan, the Human Resources Development Strategy Cabinet and Action Plan, the GMS Energy Cooperation Roadmap, and the GMS Investment Cooperation. Work planning has promoted GMS cooperation more pragmatic; in June 2010, the GMS Business Council was established to promote the participation of industrial and commercial enterprises in GMS cooperation.
4. Active docking and comprehensive cooperation
In the past year, the cooperation between China and ASEAN has been in full swing. The two sides have continued to deepen cooperation in customs, commodity inspection, transportation, and finance. According to the needs of market opening, the two sides signed the "Memorandum of Understanding on China-ASEAN Cooperation in Intellectual Property" and the "China-ASEAN Memorandum of Understanding on Technical Regulations, Standards and Conformity Assessment Procedures".
